GRANT WRITING TIPS
- Follow the funder’s directions and rules completely if you want your proposal to be read and considered.
- Your project must closely match the interests of the funder.
- Focus your proposal on meeting the needs of students and/or teachers.
- Check proposal closely for typos and grammar errors before submission.
- Be specific in stating your case. Be succinct as to why it is so important for your students to learn a language and how it will benefit them.
- Your objective must be specific and correlate to your evaluation activities.
- Grant proposal reviewers can easily spot proposals that were put together in haste. Take plenty of time to put together your proposal.
Heed caution when using buzzwords or acronyms. Your reviewer will most likely know nothing about foreign language education.
